Legendary cafés
The inhabitants of Tangier patronize the cafés and restaurants around boulevard Pasteur all year round. The legendary cafés such as the Café de France, Café de Paris, Café du Détroit, Café de Hafa, Café des Paresseux, visited by the famous names of art and literature from the early 20th century on, are continually crowded. The ones on the seafront are the most popular during the summer. All forty odd of them have pleasant terraces by the sea and everyone can find one to their taste.
Along the coast road
This very busy coast road is lined with bars and private clubs which are open all night. The jet set, more and more present, goes to private parties in the luxurious villas or the piano bars in the big hotels. You can try your luck in the casino of one of these hotels. If you have a tighter budget, you can listen to international music groups in many pubs. The most ardent revellers can dance till dawn in discotheques. Those with a Spanish or South American theme are very popular at the moment. For a more oriental mood try cabarets which put on belly dancing or Arabo-Andalusian song shows.
