The prestigious French haute couture house Christian Dior has chosen Marrakech for its next Croisière de Dior Collection 2020 fashion show, to be held on April 29.
The cruise fashion show or "Dior Cruise" is a ready-to-wear collection presented between two seasons, which is unveiled by the world's leading fashion houses in exceptional locations outside of Fashion Weeks.
After its experience at the Blenheim Palace in England (2016), the Calabasas Desert in California (2017) and the Grandes Ecuries du Domaine de Chantilly in France (2018), the 2019 fashion show will take place in Marrakech. The brand headed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of Dior, surprises with its choice of the ochre city often associated with Yves Saint Laurent. This event will mark the first experience on such a scale for the House of Dior in Morocco.
This fashion rendezvous is one of the most highly regarded and eagerly awaited international events. Marrakech will welcome fashion personalities, celebrities, the world's wealthiest clients, as well as international influencers.
Dior will mark the start of the cruise fashion shows at the end of April. This will be followed by those of Chanel at the Grand Palais on May 3 in Paris, and of Prada and Louis Vuitton on May 2 and 8, both in New York.
The emblematic place where the big fashion show will be held in Marrakech has not yet been revealed. Story to follow...
