The Hungarian low-cost airline "Wizzair" will launch a direct flight between Warsaw and Marrakech on 31 October.
This direct link is the result of a partnership contract signed between the ONMT and Wizzair which will cover the 2018-2019 winter season until the end of March 2019, with the possibility of renewal for the 2019 summer season.
This direct line will bring the destination of Marrakech closer to Polish tourists and will make it possible to attract a more diversified clientele with the possibility of "MICE" and "City Break" on Marrakech from Poland.
This new Warsaw-Marrakech flight will be operated twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday) with a departure from Warsaw Chopin airport at 7:05 or 7:15 for an arrival at 11:05 or 11:15 at Marrakech Menara airport, and a return from Marrakech at 12:00 for an arrival in Warsaw at 17:50, the same source says.
After successfully entering the Moroccan market for the first time with the Warsaw-Agadir flight, the Hungarian airline opted for Marrakech as the second destination served by direct flight, said the ONMT, adding that all Wizzair flights are operated by Airbus A 320 with 180 seats or Airbus A 321 with 230 seats.
About 54,000 Polish tourists visited Morocco in 2017, adding that the forecast for 2018 is for 80,000 tourists, a growth rate of more than 48%.
